nice coin!
Just one little blemish on the forehead.

Oh...btw....as of today's closing spot silver price...for 402K, I could purchase over 30,067 ounces of silver OR over 38,915 (give or take a few) regular Morgans....:bear_wacko: :bear_wacko:

Which do you think will be worth more in 10 years...the bullion or that Morgan?

First thing a dollar buff will notice........"luster break" above the eye, light reeding line behind the head in the field, very slight striking weakness in hair above the ear but not bad for the date, "apple-cheek" luster near perfect, tic under eagle's beak, some slight toning spots reverse, "scratch" above UN in UNITED is a die break, overall SUPER NICE for any date Morgan, a solid MS68 easily.

Those are the quality we use to "cherry-pick" out of dealer cases back in the late 60s and early 70s. Sold alot to David Hall (Heritage) early 80s for bunches of bucks ! Then the grading services started up, and most of this stuff graded out at MS68 and MS69. Look at the prices today. We bought common dates in today's MS68/69 grades for $30-40 per coin ! (sigh) Boy does that pic make me miss the "good old days".................

thanks for that detailed inspection. I would like to see more of that here , it would help me learn better how to grade types.

Let's see, a U.S. dollar...this means it has about 5-cents worth of purchasing power yet somebody is willing to pay that kind of money for it?

This supports the statement of sombody overseas who a few years back told me "a lot of Americans have more money then they have sense".

I guess, given that logic, if I paid $1000 for a silver dollar, I'm really getting it for fifty bucks. :bath:

"Purchasing power" is always relative to the starting point vs. the ending point vs. the quality of what you can buy "now" vs. "then".
